About Little Gems

The award-winning Little Gems Photography is based in Yeovil, Somerset and specialises in Maternity, Newborn and Child Fine Art photography. Having trained with one of the country’s top newborn photographers I absolutely love providing timeless memories for parents of newborns in their first few precious days, stunning maternity images which make you look amazing at a time when you probably don’t feel it, and beautiful, distinctive fine art pictures of children.

I utilise a whole array of skills to produce the very best images safely and efficiently including composite shots combined seamlessly in Photoshop where supporting hands and fingers are edited out to make it seem as though the baby is unsupported. My Work

I have a lot of experience producing maternity, newborn and child fine art images, and it starts with my first contact with you. I will guide you through the whole experience and produce stunning photos for you to treasure forever. I believe that providing this service is about more than taking photographs – it is about creating a safe, welcoming environment for you to enjoy seeing the process unfold from when I first meet you through to the beautiful and timeless images.

It’s about making more than a simple transaction – I truly believe in nurturing a warm relationship with you and working with you to produce something which you are proud to display to the world.

What To Expect

One of the main questions people have is “What happens in a photography session and afterwards”?

I’ve laid out the process here and hope it clarifies everything – if not, please do contact me to ask any other questions you may have.

  • Get in touch with Little Gems Photography about a maternity, newborn or child fine art photography session

  • I will contact you either on the phone or via a message and find out what you need in terms of the session.

  • Think it over and if you decide you want to use Little Gems Photography, book a session by emailing or calling

  • Once a deposit is paid to reserve your session I will send over a guide according to the type of photography you’re having. It will include tips for newborn sessions to get the most out of them and help ensure we get amazing images

  • Turn up to your photography session and enjoy it! If it’s maternity, take the opportunity to do hair and makeup and really make the most of your time. For newborns it’s a chance to relax and watch the session, safe in the knowledge that your precious little one is safe and secure – you can get involved yourself or take the opportunity to relax and watch.

  • As soon as I can, I’ll send over a little ‘Sneak Peek’ of a couple of edited images. After I’ve chosen and edited the images from the shoot I will contact you to arrange viewing them.

  • Come and view the edited images from the photography session and choose what you’d like in the way of physical (or digital) products. I will never try to push sales – I believe that the best customer service involves understanding your needs and encouraging you to have what’s right for you. Payment for products is up front, and I will send over an email to confirm everything to you.

  • Once i have your products finished, I will arrange delivery – I like to hand deliver if possible, as it’s nice to finish our journey as we started, by doing things personally. If that’s not possible I can arrange delivery via courier or the most appropriate method.
